Which licence applies to a pack, to the AGF format and to the site’s code. The defaults here are proposals.

The licences below are proposed defaults. The owner has not confirmed them, and a lawyer has not written or reviewed the licence text. Until they are confirmed, treat every licence on this page as a draft.

Genome packs

Proposed default: MSL-1. [DECISION: owner confirms MSL-1 as the default licence for packs]. The outline being considered is a licence that is non-exclusive and non-transferable, allows you to edit a pack for your own use, and does not allow redistribution or resale. A pack submitted by someone else is licensed by its author under the licence the author chose among those the operator accepts. See the submission rules.

What the outline is

The outline being considered is a licence that is non-exclusive and non-transferable, allows you to edit a pack for your own use, and does not allow redistribution or resale. The owner has not confirmed it, and a lawyer has not reviewed it. Packs are made for the IntelliNix platform first.

The AGF format

Proposed default: Apache-2.0 for the AGF specification and its schema. [DECISION: owner confirms Apache-2.0 for the AGF format]. The AGF format is the file format of a genome. Using the format does not by itself give you rights in anyone’s pack.

This website’s code

The licence of the site’s own source code is [DECISION: licence of the site code]. Until it is chosen, no licence is granted for the code.

Names and marks

The names Nixtra and IntelliNix are not licensed by any of the above. Their trademark status is [DECISION: trademark status of the names]. Do not use them in a way that suggests approval or endorsement by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME].
